About Dr Tanya Carpenter
Dr. Tanya Carpenter is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society who completed her Doctorate in 2012 at City University, London.
​
She has been working in the field of psychology for 18 years and has previously had over 13 years experience working with inpatients and day patients at the Priory Hospital in North London in both group therapy and individually.
​
Tanya also has experience working for the NHS in primary care, University counselling services, in Private practice and has also worked with adults with Autism and ADHD within the charity sector.
​
Although trained in a number of different therapy models, Tanya works primarily within a Psychodynamic framework and is a senior practitioner of the BPS register of psychologists specialising in psychotherapy. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to help people realise their full potential in their current life by understanding fully, issues which may be holding them back.
​
Tanya is also a RAPPS Registered Supervisor, specialising in Psychodynamic Supervision and has a wealth of experience supervising Clinical and Counselling Psychologists and other Healthcare professionals.
​
Tanya has over 5 years experience facilitating weekly Mindfulness groups and has written and presented on the topic of Mindfulness.
​
Tanya is also a lecturer in Counselling Psychology, a Course Leader of the MSc in Counselling at the University of Worcester and a Fellow of the Higher Education Institution (HEA).
